God At Work

Jennifer* is 7 years old and one of three siblings, all of whom have different fathers.  Jennifer lives a very quiet, confusing and dysfunctional life.  Her mom gave birth to her at 15, but was not ready emotionally and was not physically able to take care of her.  This young mom now lives in Georgia, calls her daughter frequently and always makes promises she cannot keep.

Fortunately, a very loving Grandma is caring for Jennifer.  Sadly, I find this situation to be very common among many families here at Long Island Youth Mentoring.  Grandma has her own three children, plus Jennifer and her two brothers.  Can you imagine the struggle?  Grandma works a full time job to care for these 6 children.  Praise God for this loving Grandma!  But she needs help.  Jennifer was recently matched to a very loving and sweet mentor (a grandma also!) who will brings the love of Christ, added stability and a passion to help Jennifer know that she can become everything that God wants her to be.

Please pray for this family and this mentors ministry to them.
